PURPOSE:To enable a filter to be cleaned effectively and efficiently in a short period of time by further blending filter media carrying fresh water with air at the time when the filter is cleaned. CONSTITUTION:Shift a magnetic breaker 5 to the magnetic breaking position and close velves 16 - 18 and open velves 19 through 22. When a pump 12 is operated, backwashing water flows into a filter media 1 passing through a water flow pipe 2. At the same time, backwashing air is also sent into the filter media from an air outlet 15a through an air pipe 15. In the filter media under such a condition, the filter element becomes demagnetized and bubbling action occurs due to continuous flowing of the backwashing water and the backwashing air at the same time. And thus captured magnetic substances are mostly discharged into the backwashing water and thereby backwashing of the media can be achieved extremely efficiently. |
