For improved heat protection light metal profile units in windows or external wall faces are thermically interrupted, and have heat-insulating connection. There is a lug or stem piece on one profile piece, for pressing between two parallel tubes (2) of material with low heat conductivity. These are elastically inlaid in a retainer area on the adjacent profile piece. The tubes may be made of plastics. Non-metallic parts have good mechanical qualities, and costs and material are saved, as compared with foaming.
