Bonding air permeable elastic thermoplast contg fleeces - using drums with electrodes to pass electric arcs through the fleeces

Electric welding of thermoplastic fleeces comprises passing a series of electric arcs through the fleece layers, depending on the thickness of the layers in the fleece. Two rotatable drums are pref. provided one filled with electrodes having any desirable number of end pieces and the other fitted with part electrodes or constructed as a single electrode. An economical process is provided for uniform bonding of the fleece over its whole structure without affecting its air permeability or elasticity.
