<p>A corona generating apparatus in which the electrode and grid are cleaned to remove particle contamination therefrom. The cleaning device flexes and scrapes the grid while substantially simultaneously therewith wiping the electrode to remove contaminants adhering to either of the foregoing. This maintains the electrical characteristics of the corona generating apparatus substantially constant eliminating any variations introduced by the accumulation of contaminating particles on the grid or electrode.
