PURPOSE:To carry out efficient solid-liquid contact by constituting a pass through which a liquid is let to flow with walls into which the liquid alone penetrates and contacting the liquid with a solid placed in closed spaces at the opposite sides of the pass through the walls. CONSTITUTION:A liquid contg. A heterogeneous phase contg. solid particles, liquid drops, bubbles, their mixt., etc. supplied from inlet 1 undergoes viscous resistance due to fluidization when it flows through pass 3 constituted with walls 2 into which the liquid alone penetrates, whereby part of the liquid is forced out to the opposite sides of pass 3 through walls 2. Outer walls 4 form closed spaces at the opposite sides of pass 3, and contact solid-packed beds 5 are placed in the closed spaces. Accordingly, the liquid penetrated through walls 2 flows into beds 5, contacts with the solid, and reversely penetrates walls 2 as it nears outlet 6. The liquid finally returns to the remaining fluid. |
