<p>A convergent intake duct has a radial outflow opening through which air accelerated in the duct impinges on airfoil shaped vanes to induce rotation of the rotor on which the vanes are mounted. The duct is formed internally of a tubular airfoil body so that the low pressure region formed on the trailing edge portion of the external airfoil surface increases the pressure differential across the vanes in the radial direction of outflow of the air from the duct.</p> |
