PURPOSE:To make up for insufficiency of cleaning performance by a magnetic brush, by forming with fluororesin the surface layer of a member retaining a static image or a toner image. CONSTITUTION:A fluororesin powder preferably having a primary particle diameter of less than 5 mu is coated on the photoconductive layer, on a support, or on an insulating layer formed on the support to form a surface layer. A static image is formed on such an electrophotographic plate, or the static image formed on the plate is transferred on the above image retaining member without a photoconductive layer. The static image is developed and transferred onto a transfer material. After transfer, excess toner remaining on the image retaining member is removed by magnetic brush cleaning. |
