Aqueous solutions of adrenochrome monoxime and semicarbazone comprise a compound of general formula <FORM:0914039/VI/1> wherein R represents a formyl, acetyl, propionyl, butyryl, aminoacetyl, phenylacetyl, benzoyl or salicylye radical, and Y represents a hydrogen atom, an allkal or alkaline earth metal, ammonium, an organically substituted ammonium, amino or amido radical as solubilizing agent and which is preferably present in an amount by weight of forty times that of the adrenochrome derivative. Specified compounds of the above general formula are: N - acetyl - 1 - naphthylamine - 4 - sodium sulphonate and the corresponding N-butyryl compound. The solutions may be dried, e.g. by evaporation or spray drying under vacuum to give solid compositions. Local an sthetics, e.g. dibucaine hydrochloride may also be present. |
