A pivotable cam(10) with an assymetric 'U' shaped head (17, 18) is incorporated in an automatic closure catch for a roller blind, being pivoted by and locking over a bar(20) mounted on the foot of the blind. A spring-loaded piston rod(28) then descends to engage a cam notch(25) and secure the cam in the active position, its retraction being effected by a sec. bar(32) mounted on the blind at a higher level. The secondary bar ascends to pivot a lever(12) with a fixed fulcrum(14), the head of the rod(28) being pinned(30) to an intermediate point. The rod may be guided by a pin(35) transversing a slot(38) at a nominal vertical inclination, and a torsion spring associated with the cam axle(13) may effect its automatic return to the inactive position.
