The stem of the bar is of uniform slender rectangular section for insertion in the gap, the arm(11) entering the staple and the pin traversing a stem hole(12) to lock the door at closure. A series of stem holes at longitudinal intervals may permit the use of the device with different doors, and the arm(11) may be formed by two flaps conforming to the staple profile. The pin may be attached to the bar by a chain(3) and may have a hair clip form with straight(21) and undulating(22) legs, the latter providing a pincer action securing the pin on the bar.
