A multi-purpose bottle and jar opener has a pair of handles (9) carrying serrated jasw (11, 12) attached to each other by a hinge pin at the end remote from the handles. Each jaw has one or more tongues (1) projecting from the outer edge, at right angles. These are more sharply bent than the screw top to be removed so that their sharp corners (8) bite into the top so as to break the vacuum to open the screw top. The far end (5) near the hinge (7) is shaped to act as a lid remover. On the side of the jaws nearer the handles, are further serrated surfaces (3) for smaller diameters. Alongside are crown cap removers (6) shaped as hooks projecting outwards. The jaws have serrations (2) on the ends of tongues projecting inwards, and have further gripper tongues (1a) between them projecting at right angles.
|
