The locking cylinder has pin type tumblers. Housing pins are aligned with core pins and loaded with springs. Housing pins of identical form are used without adversely affecting the shear strength and yet still preventing breaking in. The housing tumbler pin (11) one end faces the core pin (13); the other end has a coaxial pin (12) projecting into the pin spring (10). This projecting pin length is such that the total length of core pin (13) and the housing pin (11) including the pin (12) is greater than the length of the bore (7) of the cylinder housing (1).
