Electrostatic printer using stepwise advanced tape - permits reading of all characters entered and uses optical device to make last character visible

The electrostatic printer has a horizontal tape moved stepwise from right to left. The information to be printed is produced legibly on this tape by the operator and is moved to the printing position in front of the substrate on which the information is to be printed. For the visible indication of the position of the characters entered, an indexing device is fitted. All the characters up to the last one entered are displayed on the tape. The last character is made visible by an optical device, in a zone immediately behind the penultimate character.
