<p>The conveyor system is for use in brick mfr. and effects the placement of raw brick-sized blocks (16) on a flat wagon (19) in prepn. for direct transfer into a tunnel type oven. An inline arrangement of conveyor (2,5, 7) coupled by transfer bridges (4, 6) accepts a continuously extruded bead (12) of raw material, leads the bead beneath transverse cutters, and finally places the raw bricks at equal intervals on a discharge platform (7). Lateral thrust is then applied (8) to move the group en bloc onto the wagon (19). The system obtains the optimum placement on the wagon without complex re-handling gear. A first conveyor (2) leads the bead (12) under a bar-cutter (3) which cuts the bead into long e.g. 3 m lengths (13). The length (13) is then transferred (4) onto a second conveyor (5) and positioned at rest beneath a multi-wire cutter. The cutter acts to subdivide a length into brick-size blocks. The blocks are now transferred (6) in succession onto a third conveyor.</p> |
