PURPOSE:To obtain the optical recording medium having excellent durability even in a high-temp. and high humidity atmosphere by providing two layers of protective layers consisting of specific metals on an optical recording layer formed on a transparent substrate. CONSTITUTION:A dielectric layer 2, the optical recording layer 3, a 1st protective layer 4 and the 2nd protective layer 5 are laminated in this order on the transparent plastic substrate 1. The 1st protective layer 4 consists of at least one kind of the metals which are selected from the group consisting of Si, Ge, Sn, Pb, Ti, Zr, Cr, Mo, W, Fe, Co, Ni, Al, Ga. In, Zn, and Cd and have excellent oxide moldability and the thickness thereof is set at 100 to 1,000Angstrom . The 2nd protective layer 5 consists at least one kind of metals selected from the group consisting of Au, Pt, Pd, Ag, Cu, Rh, Ir, Ru and Os and are stable to oxidation and the thickness thereof is set at 10 to 1,000Angstrom . |
