<p>A safety ski binding includes hinged clamping brackets (6, 7) with which the toe end of the ski boot sole (4) is located. The two halves of the clamping brackets (6, 7) are symmetrical and they have a coaxial location on a fixed lateral pivot shaft (5). The clamp brackets remain locked in their closed position until an excessive force is applied by the boot. The clamp brackets (6, 7) have vertical location faces (8) near the centre line of the ski, and horizontal lugs (9) on their outside ends. They provide positive location for the toe end of the ski boot sole (4). When open, the clamp brackets and the pivot locations are below the level of the boot sole.</p> |
