Yarn feed device for e.g. flat bar knitting machine - has pref. belt with yarn guides which passes along needle bed

A feed mechanism for feeding several yarns from separate supply packages to a textile machine, e.g. a flat bar knitting machine includes a feed device moving in a closed path, pref. an endless belt having a feed run which passes along e.g. the needle bed of the knitting machine and a return run which passes pref. above the needle bed. Attached to the belt are yarn guides into which yarns are selectively fed on the return run of the belt so that the yarns are fed to the needles of the needle bed on the feed run of the belt. Several different yarns can be fed to e.g. knitting machine without the risk of them touching or becoming entangled.
