<p>Pretreated fibre materials, useful for the subsequent prodn. of shaped articles, are made by mixing wet paper- or wood pulp with glue granules or powder, and drying the resulting mixt. Pref. the pulp is made in a water bath and recovered e.g. by sieving. The pulp e.g. by pressing and is pref. milled, e.g. in a hammer mill, before mixing with the glue. Pref. the pulp has a moisture content of about 50 wt. % when it is mixed with the glue. When required for use, the prods. need only be moistened with water to enable them to be shaped as desired. They are esp. useful for artistic purposes.</p> |
