The invention relates to a method for improving egglaying recovery of a moulting hen which comprises administering LH-RH by intramuscular injection to the moulting hen. The invention also relates to an aqueous preparation for use in the process. LH-RH is a substance belonging to decapeptide stimulating secretion of hormones capable of forming corpus luteum. The duration of moulting of the hen so treated is considerably shortened and recovery of its egg-laying capability is improved resulting in an increase of the total eggs laid during a year.
