PURPOSE:To additionally improve recording efficiency in high frequency region above 100 k Hz by using a high magnetic permeability thin film having an easy magnetization direction within the film face as the high permeability thin film constituting the main magnetic pole and making the easy magnetization direction parallel to the recording medium face. CONSTITUTION:A main magnetic pole 12 being a high magnetic permeability thin film of rectangular strip form having an easy magnetization direction in the film face is provided with its end face being in contact with the recording medium 11 which travels in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the figure. It is so disposed that the easy magnetization direction thereof becomes parallel to the medium 11 face like the arrow 15, i.e., perpendicular to the magnetization direction. An auxiliary magnetic pole 13 is provided to this main magnetic pole 12, with the medium 11 in- between and recording current is flowed to the winding 14 applied to the magnetic pole 13. As a result, the magnetic pole 13 is excited, by the magnetic field whereof the main magnetic pole 12 is magnetized and the medium 11 is vertically magnetized by the magnetic field of the main magnetic pole 12. |
