<p>Reactions are carried out in a substantially horizontal elongated tubular reactor so that as nearly as possible ideal "plug flow" is maintained, a first fluid medium being continuously introduced exclusively through one end of the reactor, a second fluid medium being introduced into the first medium through orifices disposed within and along the length of the reactor directly below the central longitudinal axis of the reactor adjacent the inner surface thereof, thereby providing an additional motion in the form of a rotary pattern of flow about axes extending in the direction of flow of the first medium.</p> |
