1,152,229. Igniting oil burners. SIEMENSELECTROGERATE G.m.b.H. 14 July, 1967 [14 July, 1966], No. 32495/67. Headings F4F and F4T. A pot burner has an electrically heated ignition element 5 movable into an igniting position by means of a push rod 11 which is also coupled to the oil inlet valve and to a switch for energizing the element through a member 8. A bimetallic strip 10 locks the element in the igniting position until ignition takes place, the heat of the burner causing the strip 10 to release the member 8 so opening the switch and allowing the element 5 to be swung into another position by a spring (9). If the fuel supply is interrupted during the ignition period the heat of element 5 warps the strip 10 to release the switch and allow movement of the element by the spring.
