<p>PURPOSE:To improve the stability of an org. basic substance such as coloring matter or dye to light without deteriorating the hue and purity by using a specific metal complex with high solubility in org. solvent and high miscibility with the substance. CONSTITUTION:By adding one or more kinds of metal complexes represented by formulae I,II, an org. basic substanc exhibiting its absorption max. in about 300-about 800 nm is stabilized to light. The substance may be, e.g. a water sol. dye such as basic dye, an insol. dye such as sulfide dye, or an image forming dye such as color coupler. Cpds. of formula I include the Ni metal complex of formula III obtd. by the reaction of N,N'-ethylenebis(monothioaetylacetoneimine) with nickel acetate, and the cpd. of formula II may be used as a cpd. of formula IV.</p> |
