PURPOSE:To deodorize malodiorous gas with a small amount of O3, by installing tow or more layers of packing, e.g., activated carbon or metallic oxide, with respective intervals between them, and by introducing O3 gas into the underside of each packing layer, and malodorous gas into the base of the treating tank. CONSTITUTION:A gas to be treated contg. malodorous substance is introduced into a reaction vessel 3 by a blower 1. The packing in the vessel 3 is made into two or more layers, e.g., in three layers 4a, 4b, 4c. A gas contg. O3 generated in an ozonizer 2 is led into the vessel 3 through flow control valves 7a, 7b, 7c and feed pipes 6a, 6b, 6c installed at the underside of each packing layers 4a-4c, and is mixed with the gas to be treated. O3 gas reacts with malodorous substance in the packing layers, and, at the same time, the O3 gas decomposed uselessly by the packing can be decreased independently of the reaction. |
