PURPOSE:To provide a device to detect damages on cutting tools, which utilizes a plurality of detection functions and is capable of detecting damages on a tool at the time of starting operation, and of enhancing detection reliablity. CONSTITUTION:The vibration acceleration signal from acceleration pickup 1 mounted on a cutting stand is amplified by amplifier 3, then it is fed to No.1 and No.2 RMS circuits 6 and 10. The output of circuit 6 is compared with No.1 set value by comparator 7. If the output value of circuit 6 is larger than the set value, damage detection signal F1 is given and display 9 is lit. On the other hand, the output of circuit 10 is given to comparator 11, ratio standard setting memory circuit 17 and comparator-arithmetic circuit 19. Comparator 11 compares it with the set value. When the output is larger than the set value, a signal indicating that the processing is in operation is given to timer circuit 13. The ratio output of arithmetic circuit 19 is given to No.3 comparator 20, from which damage detection signal F2 is given as output. |
