<p>The appts. comprises an elastically deformable element such as a combined bellows and jack, forming one element of a system for creating or damping vibrations. Vibrations may be produced by an electromagnet in which the pole piece is connected to a plate at one end of the bellows and the armature is connected to a plate at the other end. Energisation of the electromagnet compresses the bellows. On de-energisation the bellows expands due to air pressure within it.</p> |
