PURPOSE:To realize the two-dimensional scanning of high precision by providing selecting means which moves the recording medium in the first and second directions orthogonal each other so as to select a desired region to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:Clutch 129 is made ON to transmit the drive force of motor to pulley 124 via gear 132 to gear 130 so that the guide arm 111 of Y-axis moves at the same speed in the positive direction of the arrow X. The guide arm 111 of the Y- axis moves in the negative direction of the arrow X, and it makes clutch 128 OFF wnen it returns to its original position. In the above, one cycle of the auxiliary scanning ends. When the number of teeth of gears 127 and 132 are equal, if the number of teeth of the gear 125 is 1/2 of the number of teeth of the gear 130, at the time of returning, the speed two times as fast as that of recording is obtained. |
