<p>PURPOSE:To improve the stability to repeated surge by heat-treating a sintering body ZnO or ZnO and MgO at 600 to 1,000 deg.C for 5 to 120 minutes in the air. CONSTITUTION:After the mixture of which primary components are ZnO or ZnO and MgO and to which such additives as Bi2O3, Sb2O3, CO2O3, MnO, Cr2O5, fe2O3, etc. are added is pressurized and molded, it is sintered and changed into a resistor. Then it is heat-treated at 600 to 1200 deg.C for 5 to 120 minutes in the air and electrodes are applied by metallic flame spray coating. This nonlinear resistor permits both crystal particles and particle phases to become more unique and stable due to diffusion by heat treatment and the stability to repeated surge to be improved. Discharge withstand and charging life characteristics are also improved by heat treatment.</p> |
