This matrix is intended to be used with a duplicating apparatus fitted with suitable electrical selection circuits, especially an addressing machine operating by the gelatine-printing (hectographic) technique. The matrix includes, on one of its faces, a plurality of zones (28) for controlling its treatment, in which zones are stored control indications provided for actuating electrical selection circuits. These zones for controlling the treatment are arranged spaced apart according to predetermined positions corresponding to the predetermined positions of the selection circuits. Indications, provided on this face, make it possible to indicate the position of the said zones for controlling the treatment. The other face of the matrix is equipped with information zones permitting visual referencing of the information stored in the said control zones (28). According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the zones for controlling the treatment are light-reflecting surfaces. <IMAGE>
