The combined harvester has a coupling for towing a single axle trailer. The wheels (6) of the trailer (5) can also be steered. For forward travel, the harvester wheels are steered and for backwards travel, the trailer wheels are steered, in which case the harvester wheels are controlled according to the position of the trailer tow bar (4). A hydrostatic steering system is used with magnetic control valves to switch the power to the respective wheels.
