First and second volume chambers are connected to the fluid pressure system being monitored. Should the pressure differential between the system being and the first chamber reach a predetermined level, the second chamber is isolated from the system for a given period of time. If during this period of time the pressure differential between the second chamber and the system reaches a predetermined value, a signal is produced which may be used to actuate a device, such as a valve or warning signal.
