The design is suitable both for rotary and slide switches. The switch contacts lie in a direction, along which a contact bridge (40) can move. At least one contact forms a support bearing for the bridge. When the latter is moved from a first contacting position into a second one, it tilts on the support bearing. This bridge tilt breaks the first contacting position and effect another one. During the movement the bridge is connected to an external terminal (21), connecting fin etc. independently of its switching position, via a conductive path (102, 104, 503). Preferably the external terminal serves also one of the contacts (21-24).
