<p>Colour or black/white prints are produced on articles, esp. those made of leather or wood by producing a printing plate with the original and transferring the print to a flexible carrier (granulated art paper). The article is wetted with a colour solvent and the printed side of the paper is applied to it. Pressure transfers the print to the article. This eliminates all difficulties with the instability and merging of colours. In the case of leather, it neutralizes the migration of tannic acid and ensures excellent durability. Complex pictures can be transferred satisfactorily. Pref. the printing plate is made by the offset printing method. The pref. print carrier is a granulated art paper. The colour solvent is a two-component mixt. of one part of a colour solvent without oil with four parts by wt. of a colour solvent with oil.</p> |
