The electric warning system for IC engine cooling liquid is arranged to take control power only from the generator (1), by fitting a Diode (8) in the line from regulator (2) to main (4). A thermal switch (11) makes the control circuit (9) when coolant temp. is below a set min. This energises a relay switch (10) connecting the heater lead (14) to the main (4), that relay being designed not to operate below engine idling speed. Another relay switch (15) wired in parallel (21) with the heater circuit operates a timer-controlled switch (16), limiting heating time whatever the position of the other control switches (10, 11).
