Main and dipped beam headlight - has dipped filament at right angles to paraboloid reflector axis

Headlight has a reflector comprising two part-paraboloids one above the other and with nearly common axis. The focal point of the top one is nearer to the apices of both. The dipped-light filament is between the focal points of the paraboloids, and the full-beam one is at that of the bottom one, a mask being provided for the light readiated by it towards the top one. The dipped-light filament (7) is at right angles to the axis of the paraboloids (3, 4), and roughly on the horizontal central plane of the headlight.
