Plastic tank shell rim - mfd. in multipart mould with insert covered by elastomer

Plastic fluid container shells with a fork-shaped joint rim are mfd. by laying a glass fibre mat in an outer mould, inserting a mould element which determines the forked rim, and laying a second fibre mat on the not covered part. After applying the inner mould, the gap between the moulds is covered and liquid resin is admitted to the glass fibre filled spaces at a vacuum or pressure. This saves the manual forming of the template with resin impregnated glass fibres which exposes the workers for long periods to rising gas vapours.
