<p>The spin-stabilised annular missile has a cartridge base bearing against an annular shoulder at its rear end, and a detachable cover over the forward edge of the missile, which is sharpened to a knife edge. The cover is cone-shaped. Its weight and rigidity can be such that acceleration on fitting drives it inside the missile, from which it detaches together with the cartridge base, and it can be of plastic, with a recess in the rear end, and of foam material. The missile is for use as a practice round fired from large-calibre guns.</p> |
