Sodium formyl-cyanamide, used as heterocycle intermediate - prepd. from sodium hydrogen cyanamide and formate ester

Sodium formyl-cyanamide of formula Na circled positive H-CO-N circled negative-C=N (I) is new. It is characterised by an elemental analysis corresp. to the formula and by having m.pt. 256-7 degrees C. (I) is a synthesis reagent, e.g. for prodn. of heterocycles from o-phenylene diamine derivs., in the prepn. of plant protectants, pesticides and drugs.
