The stroke piston i/c engine has a piston with a flat top which at top dead centre forms a disc-shaped part combustion chamber. On the opposite side to this chamber, the plate of an inlet valve is arranged. In the valve's suction channel, an injection nozzle points to the inlet valve plate. The disc-shaped part (14) of the combustion chamber constitutes the major part of the compression end volume, is circular, and is limited on the side opposite to the piston base (6) by the inlet valve (17) plate (16). The fuel is so directed from the nozzle (25) that it passes virtually freely through the ring gap on the opened inlet valve into the part combustion chamber (14).
