<p>The thread brake and tension measuring device is particularly for use with synthetic fibres. Inside a housing rotating on an axis, and pref. with axial cooling passages or an annular gap through which air flows is a magnetic brake, pref. adjustable. The cooling passages can be outside the bearing and braking chamber, connecting to an externally-smooth fan wheel with radial outlets, and also providing a flywheel effect in conjunction with the housing, to smoth out uneven thread tension. The air gap between the rotary housing and the stationary portion can be bridged by a permanent- or electromagnetic field, producing the braking effect.</p> |
