The fitting for windows or doors has a pressed pinion made from thin sheet metal. This pinion rotates between side plates of the fitting, and has a square hole for the handle mandrel. The pinion has a pressed circular bearing seat (8) with an inner raised rim (10). This rim forms an extension of the square hole (2), adding stability to the square mandrel hole edge. The material outside the square hole forming rim (10) can have a round circumference adding further strength to the hole edges.
