<p>Process for washing and bleaching textile materials. The process, which is carried out by means of an aqueous detergent bath containing a detergent composition substantially devoid of bleaching agent, is characterized by the fact that said bleaching is obtained by incorporation in the machine (70) to said detergent bath, at a desired time, of an oxidizing alkaline aqueous solution containing particularly hydrogenoperoxide ions, said oxidizing alkaline aqueous solution being produced immediately before its incorporation to said detergent bath by electrolytic process, by reduction of the oxygen on a cathode in an alkaline medium inside an electrolysis cell (1).
