PURPOSE:To deodorize nitrogen-containing ill-smelling substance as well as sulfur- containing ill-smelling substance existing in ammonia-containing gas emitted from sewage disposal and domestic waste water disposal, by the biological oxidation decomposition of the gas using nitrifying bacteria and activated sludge bacteria. CONSTITUTION:I11-smelling gas containing ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, mercaptan, etc., emitted from a septic tank, etc., is introduced into an aeration tank containing activated sludge bacteria and nitrifying bacteria, such as Nitrosomonas, Nitrobacter, etc. The sulfur compound is oxidized and decomposed by the activated sludge bacteria, while ammonia dissolved in water is oxidized to nitrogen oxides by the nitrifying bacteria. |
