PURPOSE:To protect a range finding element against an excessive incident light by releasing the shield of incidence of a light upon a range finding optical system only upon the shutter release during an automatically focused photography. CONSTITUTION:When a change-over member 9 is shifted to the position of AF to effect the automatically focused photography, the retention of a link member 5 by the member 9 is released so that a shielding member 3 for protecting a range finding element is shifted through a link 6, which is turned by the depression of a release button 4, and through the link 5 thereby to release the shield of the photometric lenses 20 and 22 of an incident light. As a result, only when the shutter release is accomplished under the automatically focused photographic condition, a light receiving arrary structure 24 of a range finding optical system receives the incident light. As a result, the elements of the range finding optical system are protected against the excessive incident light such as a solar ray for a long time thereby to prevent the deterioration in performance and damages. |
