<p>Novel 2-amino imidazole derivatives of the formula: (I) wherein R1 is optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cycloalkyl, phenylalkyl or phenyl, R2 and R3 are each hydrogen or a variety of optionally substituted organic groups or R2 and R3 together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded represent a saturated heterocyclic group, R4 is hydrogen, halogen or alkyl, and R5 is hydrogen or methyl, are disclosed, as well as a process for preparing them. The compounds X and their acid addition and quaternary ammonium salts psychostimulant and anti-inflammatory activity and are useful in human and veterinary medicine.</p> |
