Novel storage-stable, acidic water based, thermosetting coating compositions contain (1) (a) a non- ionic polyether, polyester- or polyurethane- polyol or (b) an anionic acrylic or vinyl polymer obtained by emulsion polymerization, and (2) a methylolated glycoluril or an ether and/or partial condensate thereof as cross-linking agent The use of these glycoluril cross-linking agents obviates the need for the addition of amine to stabilize the compositions, which has environmental and processing advantages. |
