1473927 Hatch covers MAC GREGOR COMARAIN 8 Nov 1974 [8 Nov 1973[ 48463/74 Addition to 1181978 Heading B7S A hatch cover with abutting sections 5, 6 has a rotary torsion bar 13b mounted on section 6 parallel to the abutting edges of the sections and provided with a first abutment element 15b projecting towards the adjacent section 5 and co-operating with abutment element 16a on section 5. A second abutment element 15c co-operates with an abutment element 16b on section 6. The torsion bar is rotated into the locking position by the engagement of radially extending arm 17<SP>1</SP> with movable actuating rod 36 mounted on the side of section 5, which rod engages covering 3 upon the lowering of the hatch sections. The hatch cover described with respect to Fig. 1 (not shown) has two coaxially aligned torsion bars 13b mounted symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal vertical centre plane of the cover. |
