PURPOSE:To realize a nighttime display with clear and uniform brightness by relecting the light from a light source inside a unit effectively by making convex the flank at the light-source side of a passive reflector provided at the lower part of a liquid- crystal display body. CONSTITUTION:On the liquid-crystal display body composed of a couple of polarizing plates 1, a couple of glass plates 3 provided with clear electrodes 2 and liquid- crystal composition substance 5 sealed via spacer 4, passive reflector 8 composed of transparent resin plate 6 formed at the lower side of the display body and reflection layer 7 formed on its reverse surface through aluminium vapor deposition, etc., has its flank made convex at the side of illuminating light source 9. This shape is therefore made convex considering the refractive index of the resin plate in to irradiate a part of the passive reflector away from light source 9 without diffusing a light beam from light source 9 near light source 9, so that a clear display can be obtained with the entire display surface mae bright uniformly. |
