PURPOSE:To provide a sodium heating steam generator, which is provided with a liner capable of extremely highly absorbing pressure wave energy due to reaction between sodium and water and is capable of achieving prevention of deformation of a shell, improvement of safety and extension of life. CONSTITUTION:In a sodium heating steam generator comprising a shell 1, which is filled with high temperature sodium 4 entering it from an inlet duct 2 and going out from it through an outlet duct 3 up to a level 5 and is provided with a heat transfer tube 8 including a descent tube 6 and an ascent tube 7 and a buffer member 12 extending between it and a heat transfer tube 8 for absorbing pressure wave energy, and the buffer member 12 consists of a comparatively thin stainless steel plate 14 having substantially uniformly distributed voids 15 filled with an inactive gas 13 such as argon. With this construction, pressure wave energy is consumed for crushing the voids 14 within the stainless steel plate 14 and compressing the gas 13 within the voids 15, and in this way it is ultimately absorbed by the buffer member 12. |
