摘要 <p>Prodn. of latex foam coatings involves coating a flat substrate with a thin layer of a foamed aq. butadiene-styrene copolymer dispersion and drying the foam at 100-200 degrees C, with crosslinking with a urea- and/or melamine-HCHO precondensate. The novel feature is that the aq. dispersion used contains an anionic emulsifier and a copolymer of 40-60(wt.)% butadiene, 30-40% styrene, 5-20% alkyl acrylate, with a 4-8C, non-tert, alkyl gp., 1.5-5% 3-5C alpha, beta-monoolefinically unsatd. carboxylic acid and 0-2% (meth)acrylamide. The coating are useful on textile floor coverings. The wet foam produced from the dispersion has a more acceptable odour than that from the usual butadiene/styrene copolymer dispersions and gives more resilient coatings.</p>
